1974 Music City 420 Cup Race at the Nashville Fairgrounds

The May race almost always fell on the same day as Pole Day for the Indy 500.

We never missed Pole Day, so there were a few 420s I missed. And some years,

we high-tailed it home and made it in time for most, if not all, of the 420.

The 1974 race was halted by rain after 127 laps, so we had no reason to head to the track.

The race resumed on Sunday and I was in the stands. I had film left in the camera from

Indy, so I finished the roll during the race. Those images are posted below.

Richard, Donnie, and Darrell run 1-2-3 under a late-race caution, although DW was 4 laps down. That's right, 4 laps down in third place.
